#UroSoMe Project: A Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices Survey on AEEP for BPH

Target audience
Urologists (Training and not in training).

What is the purpose of the study ?
The aim of this international survey is to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices among urologists with regards to the surgical procedure anatomical endoscopic enucleation of prostate (AEEP) for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

What is a KAP Survey ?
A KAP survey is a representative study of a specific population to collect information on what is known, believed and done in relation to a particular topic — in this case, a surgical procedure for treatment of BPH.

What is Anatomical Endoscopic Enucleation of prostate (AEEP) ?
AEEP refers to the commonly used technique of transurethral endoscopic enucleation of the prostate following the anatomical plane between the capsule and the adenoma.

In this survey, AEEP is used as a collective term to describe all transurethral endoscopic enucleation procedures including bipolar enucleation of prostate (bipoLEP), holmium laser enucleation of prostate (HoLEP), thulium laser enucleation of prostate (ThuLEP), etc.

I don’t do the procedure, can I take the survey ?
Yes, it is for all urologists. The questionnaire is set to assess KAP of surgeons who perform this procedure as well as those who do not perform the procedure.

Where do the questions come from?
The questions in this KAP study were identified and formulated via a systematic review of literature.
